Location & Directions

Ivy House is located in the town of St Austell and is a short walk from the shops and services guests require – including cafes, restaurants, pubs and bars – as well as chemists, clothes stores, banks, a cinema, and a range of other shops.

Ivy House is also a very short walk away from St Austell train and coach/bus station. St Austell is on the national rail network and there are direct trains to many destinations – including Plymouth, Exeter, Bristol, London, Birmingham, Leeds and Edinburgh – as well as to towns across Cornwall. You can also travel to St Austell on the national coach network. The bus station offers services to destinations across Cornwall – including the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan. Local bus timetables and information can be found on the Transport for Cornwall website.

By car you can easily reach us from both the A30 and A390. There is a free, unrestricted parking area in front of Ivy House.

By air you can fly to Cornwall Airport at Newquay (15 miles away), which offers direct flights to a number of locations, including London Heathrow/Gatwick (some routes are seasonal; please see the airport’s website for the latest list of destinations). A taxi from the airport to Ivy House will cost around £40.

Directions:

By car – if using satnav, you can use the postcode PL25 5QJ – however, please make sure it directs you into North Hill Park from Palace Road (next to St Austell train/bus station) and not via North Street/Menacuddle Hill. If in doubt, follow signs to St Austell railway station. The entrance to North Hill Park is off Palace Road (which runs alongside the station), next to the old signal box and green pedestrian bridge. Follow the drive parallel to the railway line until you come to a sign-posted parking area. Ivy House is on your right.

From the train/bus station:

From Platform 1 (trains from Plymouth) and bus/coach station – use the grey pedestrian bridge to cross the railway line (using the lifts, if necessary) to Platform 2.

From Platform 2 (trains from Penzance) – walk through the car park towards the exit (next to the old signal box and green pedestrian bridge). The entrance to North Hill Park is in front of you. Follow the drive parallel to the railway line until you come to a sign-posted parking area; Ivy House is on your right.
